True, but the problem is "where do you put all the icons"? To force a
smaller desktop would mean that all the desktop icons, notes, etc. all
would get shuffled around. Quite a mess if you just switched in/out of a
desktop window for a minute. Personally, I *hate* to have anything that
reformats my desktop for me. Took me long enough to get it the way I
want. However, I have been putting my drive icons on the upper left of
the window. That way I can switch between desktop-in-a-window and
regular-desktop.
